[Apr 6, 2019] Antarctic Dinosaurs Members Party at NHM

Julia's new dress that we bought yesterday at Westfield Culver City.  She really likes dress or skirt.  Today, we were invited by Natural History Museum at Los Angeles County to Antarctic Dinosaurs Members Party.  NHM changes its display at B1 level once or twice a year and invites NHM members to its party to see the new display for the first time.  Julia went there wearing her new dress.

 

 

 

 

 

Julia just before the entering.  Jay already ran into the opening door..  It was my first time to join the party.  Members attending the party could park at NHM parking lot for free.  It was very convenient because I had to park at Exposition parking lot on other days.

 

 

 

 

 

NHM closed at 6:00 pm and the party started on 6:30 pm so that only invited members could enjoy.  Further, NHM provided appetizers and some hot foods!

 

 

 

 

 

Delicous food!  Appetizers were especially great!  It was not necessary to have dinner!  All these foods were complimentary and the only payment was for soda at the cash bar.

 

 

 

 

 

We had foods at African exhibition hall. ^^;  It was so great experience to have foods there.

 

 

 

 

 

Jay really likes coke..  Julia's choice were sprite.

 

 

 

 

 

There were many staffs explaining specifically and friendly regarding dinosaurs with real dinosaur fossils!  Whenever experiencing these things, as in the Getty Center, I become to think about the differences of environment between US and Korea..

 

 

 

 

 

For antarctic dinosaurs exhibition, NHM made diverse things.  This was to experience the flight to Antarctica along with other scientists.

 

 

 

 

 

Then, we could see many equipments used in old days and these days to explore Antarctica.  Julia took her "secret notebook" and kept writing something.  So cute!

 

 

 

 

 

My loving wife kindly explained many things to Jay and Julia.  She is always an excellent mom.

 

 

 

 

 

Jay and Julia had chance to use the tools that were used in Antarctica to excavate dinosaurs fossils..

 

 

 

 

 

and to study fossils..

 

 

 

 

 

These are reproduced dinosaurs lived in Antarctica.  The exhibition was so great!

It was possible to experience to wear clothes and boots currently being used by the scientists in Antarctica!

 

 

 

 

 

Jay and Julia said it was so hot to wear these. :-)

 

Anyway, the title of 3D movice at NHM was changed from "ocean" to "incredible predators" and the latter was the most fantastic and beautiful stereoscopic movie that I've ever seen.  Leopard, cameleon, polar bear, big blue whale..  I really recommend anyone to try it!
